Binseek keeps a record of what you own and where you put it. That record is yours. This explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

01

What we collect

Only what the app needs to do its job. There is no advertising network here, and nothing is sold.

  • Your account details — the email address you sign in with, and the name your sign-in provider gives us.
  • Photographs you take of your bins, drawers, shelves and their contents.
  • The records built from those photographs — item names, categories and the locations you file them under.
  • Basic technical information needed to run the service, such as error reports and the device type used to sign in.

02

Your photographs

Photographs are the most personal thing Binseek holds. They are pictures of the inside of your home.

When you scan a bin, the photograph is sent to a recognition service to identify the items visible in it. That service returns a draft list, which you then confirm or change. Recognition only ever describes what is visible in the frame — it does not and cannot identify anything hidden inside a closed container.

Your photographs are stored so the app can show you what a bin contains. They are not used to train recognition models, and they are not shared with anyone outside the services needed to run Binseek.

03

How we use it

To recognise items in your photographs, to store and search your records, to sync between your devices, and to keep your account secure.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not build a profile of you for anyone else.

04

Where it lives

Binseek works offline. Your records are kept on your device first, so the app keeps working in a garage with no signal.

When you are signed in and connected, your records and photographs are also stored on our servers so they survive a lost phone and reach your other devices. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access controls that restrict each account to its own records.

05

Deleting your things

Anything you delete goes to Trash, where you can restore it for 30 days. After that it is removed from the app and scheduled for deletion from our storage.

You can delete your whole account at any time. Ask us at the address below and we will remove your account and the records attached to it.

06

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA, including the right to object to certain processing.

Write to hello@binseek.app and we will respond.

07

Children

Binseek is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.

08

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that materially affects you, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision.
